YEREVAN, October 30. /ARKA/. Armenia’s government approved today a package regulating food safety as part of its accession to the Eurasian Economic Union.

Procedures of phitosanitary control over plants and vegetables exported through Armenia from third countries to the Eurasian Economic Union member countries are specified in the package.

Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan said in this connection that Armenian entrepreneurs should be informed about the changes that are expected to take force on January 1, 2015.

“Entrepreneurs have no idea about these changes,” he said. “It is necessary to invite them, present them the changes and answer their questions. Post all questions and answers at your websites,” he told ministers.

Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan signed the Eurasian Economic Union Treaty in May and have already ratified it and Armenia joined them in early October. ---0-----
