YEREVAN, April 6. /ARKA/. Armenian prime minister Karen Karapetyan asked today the head of the department of state property management Arman Sahakyan to submit proposals to transform this agency into a business structure.
The prime minister said the department’s mission will be privatization of state-owned property, which the government does not need, and also to provide control over the managers of state property.
"I expect that the proposed changes will make the department a good commercial agency that will work according to the rules of business, not of officials," Karapetyan said.
He said also he expects the Central Bank’s assistance in this matter, in particular, in the context of changes in the capital market.
The Cabinet passed also a decision, according to which state agencies will refrain from submitting applications for recognition of bankruptcy of those enterprises, which are included in the privatization program. --0--
