Armenian government ready to expand cooperation with EU in new directions - Deputy Prime Minister

YEREVAN, November 29. /ARKA/. Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan received on Tuesday members of the joint delegation of the European External Action Service (EEAS) and the European Commission's Directorate General for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations, the government press service reported.
It said the sides touched upon the implementation of the EU-Armenia Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA) and ongoing cooperation in a number of areas within the framework of the EU Economic and Investment Plan.
They also looked into the opportunities for the enhancement of trade and economic relations between Armenia and the European Union.
Khachatryan reaffirmed the readiness of the government to expand the cooperation with the EU, supplementing the bilateral agenda with new directions, which are essential for the sustainable economic development, increasing the resilience and diversification of the economy.
Armenia's foreign trade turnover with the EU countries in the first 9 months of 2023 amounted to $2.1 billion with a 30.8% growth. Exports to EU countries decreased by 5.1% to $575.5 million, while imports to Armenia increased by 48.5% to $1.7 billion. -0-
