YEREVAN, October 31./ARKA/. The Armenian government decided today to suspend 43 illegal artesian wells in Ararat Valley.
The government will allocate AMD 107.5 million to the environment ministry for that.
In the document issued today, the government said that water from these wells is used for fish farming, and many fish farmers use it illegally.
It said that artesian pressure surface in the valley fell in recent years because wells are abundant here, and this hampers fishery and irrigation of crop land. ($1 – AMD 405.03). ----0-----
