YEREVAN, November 15. /ARKA/. Armenia’s ministry of transport, communications and information technology has failed to auction its building located in downtown Yerevan at 28, Nalbandyan Street. The decision to sell the historic building was taken by the government on October 6.
The government wants to sell the building, estimated to cost 13.2 billion drams (about $27 million) through so-called classical auction.
The State Property Management Department said the notice about auctioning the building ‘in the manner prescribed by law’ was placed on a special website of the ministry of justice 20 days ago and also at azdarar.am and spm am websites. It said the auction scheduled for November 14 was declared invalid due to lack of buyers.
The government said the decision to auction the historic building was made ‘in order to increase the efficient use of state property, as well as due to the fact that the term of the lease of the building, housing also several other organizations, will expire in 2017 and 2018.’
According to another government decision, the ministry will relocate to building 3/3 on Vazgen Sargsyan Street.-0-
