YEREVAN, July 10. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Monday Iranian Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian, the prime minister’s press office reports. 

Pashinyan stressed the importance of further development of relations between the two countries and expressed hope that untapped potential will be used very soon by joint efforts. 

“Armenia is ready for close cooperation with friendly Iran,” Pashinyan said. “We attach importance to our dialogue based on mutual interests and we are sure that Armenian-Iranian relations will continue developing on this very principle.”

The Armenian premier said that it is necessary to build up trade between the two countries. 

Ardakanian, on his side, passed on Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s invitation to Nikol Pashinyan. 

Ardakanian said he finds cooperation in free economic zones very promising. 

The Armenian premier and the Iranian energy minister also discussed joint programs in energy area. They stressed the importance of cooperation on various areas. 

Regional issues were discussed at the meeting as well. -0---
