YEREVAN, April 12. /ARKA/. Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan and the visiting foreign minister of the Czech Republic, Karel Schwarzenberg, discussed today ways to increase trade between the two countries, Sargsyan’s press service said.

It said in this context, the two men emphasized the importance of economic cooperation in areas of mutual interest. They also agreed that frequent contacts between the business communities of both countries may contribute to it.

Sargsyan and Schwarzenberg expressed hope that the progress made during April 8-12 Armenian-Czech business forum in Yerevan will give the parties new opportunities to increase trade, develop and implement joint business projects.

The sides also noted with satisfaction the intensification of relations and political dialogue between Armenia and the Czech Republic, as evidenced by the opening of the Armenian embassy in Prague and the Czech embassy in Yerevan, cooperation in the framework of international organizations and the strengthening of inter-parliamentary relations.

Trade turnover between Armenia and the Czech Republic in 2012 was $21.8 million with Armenian exports standing at $1.48 million. -0-
