Armenian president to address World Economic Forum on Middle East and Нorth Africa in Jordan

Armenian President Armen Sarkissian is leaving today for Jordan on a working visit to participate in the World Economic Forum (WEF) on the Middle East and North Africa to be hosted by the capital of Jordan April 5-7. The Armenian president is invited as a speaker of the gathering, his press office reported.

YEREVAN, April 5. /ARKA/. Armenian President Armen Sarkissian is leaving today for Jordan on a working visit to participate in the World Economic Forum (WEF) on the Middle East and North Africa to be hosted by the capital of Jordan April 5-7. The Armenian president is invited as a speaker of the gathering, his press office reported. 

The WEF meeting is organized with the assistance and high patronage of the King of Jordan, Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein Al-Hashimi, and the Queen, Rania Al-Abdullah. The meeting will be attended by more than 1,000 leaders representing government, business and public circles from different countries who will discuss the challenges that the region faces. In particular, the meeting participants will discuss such issues as energy security, the use of clean and renewable energy sources and cyber security. 

President Sarkissian will speak at a panel discussion on New Energy for the Middle East. The President of Armenia will also meet with the founder and executive chairman of the WEF, the renowned economist Klaus Schwab. "

Sarkissian is a veteran participant of the forum and has a long-standing friendly relationship with Klaus Schwab," the press office said. During his visit to Jordan, the president will meet with the country's leadership, as well as with representatives of business circles and the local Armenian community. --0---
