Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan had a meeting today in Yerevan with Tatiana Valovaya, Eurasian Economic Commission’s (EEC) minister for integration and macroeconomics, the government press office reported.

YEREVAN, December 5. / ARKA /. Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan had a meeting today in Yerevan with Tatiana Valovaya, Eurasian Economic Commission’s (EEC) minister for integration and macroeconomics, the government press office reported.

It said Abrahamyan and Valovaya discussed a set of issues relating to development of cooperation across the Eurasian Economic Union that comes into force on January 1, 2015.

They were said to have expressed satisfaction with the results of the joint work aimed at Armenia's joining the Eurasian Economic Union noting that all the planned measures had been implemented in accordance with the established timetable.

By a vote of 103 to 7 and one abstention the National Assembly of Armenia ratified December 4 the agreement that makes the country a member of the Eurasian Economic Union. The other members of the Russia-led trade bloc are Kazakhstan and Belarus. 

The agreement was endorsed by 5 of the six factions in the Armenian parliament, except for Zharangutyun (Heritage) party. -0-
