YEREVAN, May 18. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said today that the reforms in the State Revenue Committee need to be given a fresh push as he introduced the newly appointed head of the agency David Ananyan to the staff.
"The State Revenue Committee, together with the tax and customs systems, is in the limelight of the public at large, the media and the government. We are constantly talking about reforming these systems, but we note that this is not enough and it is necessary to give the reforms a new impulse," Pashinyan was quoted as saying by the government press service.
Pashinyan said the first task of the agency is to rule out obstacles to the economy and entrepreneurs, and secondly, ensure a consistent reduction of the shadow economy and an increase in the revenue collection,’
“I expect effective activity in these areas," the prime minister said.
He noted that the performance of the tax and customs bodies is instrumental in ensuring that the positive energy accumulated as a result of recent political events is transformed into concrete economic results.
In turn, Ananyan assured that in the context of the new realities, the State Revenue Committee will fulfill the tasks assigned to it by the government. -0-
