YEREVAN, April 3. /ARKA/. Armenian and Russian governments have decided to work out a trade and economic cooperation strategy for a period until 2020, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at a news conference in Yerevan.
“Co-chairs of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation met recently and decided to embark on elaboration of a long-term trade and economic cooperation program intended for a period until 2020,” he said. “I think this document will give new ambitious and important cooperation guidelines to our nations.”
Speaking about cooperation prospects, the Russian minister stressed that Russia welcomes participation of CIS member countries, including Armenia, in creation of the common economic space.
Lavrov said that such processes would be increasingly gaining momentum and producing real results.
His Armenian counterpart, Edward Nalbandyan, added that trade and economic relations between the two countries are developing very intensively now.
“Today our trade turnover came close to $1 billion, and Russian investments in Armenia total about $3 billion,” he said.-0---
