Armenian services sector grows 27.9% in 10 months to 2.1 trillion drams
YEREVAN, December 6. /ARKA/. Armenia's services sector surged by 27.9% in the first 10 months of 2022 as opposed to the same months of 2021 to over 2.1 trillion drams (in current prices), the National Statistical Committee (NSC) reported.
It said in October 2022 alone the sector saw 34.9% rise from the same month of 2021 to over 250 billion drams. Compared to September 2022 the growth amounted to 4.4%.
Financial and insurance services accounted for 30.6 % of the total having grown by 49% y-o-y to over 635.7 billion drams.
Information and communication services grew by 38.3% to about 362.7 billion drams (17.5% of the total). Transport services grew by 36.8% to about 260.7 billion drams (12.6% of the total).
Entertainment, culture and recreation services grew by 5.7% to over 204.6 billion drams (9.9% of the total). Catering and hotel services grew by 17.7% to over 197.5 billion drams (9.5% of the total), while health and social services grew by 0.6% to about 106.8 billion drams (5.1% of the total).
Scientific and technical services grew by 15.4% to over 89 billion drams (4.3% of the total), real estate-related services grew by 2% to over 76 billion drams (3.7% of the total), administrative and related services grew by 20.7% to about 67.8 billion drams (3.3% of the total) and education services grew by 10.7% to over 53.6 1 billion drams (2.6% of the total).
