Armenian services sector grows by 22.2% in January-April 2023 to 919.3 bln drams

YEREVAN, June 6. /ARKA/. Armenia's service sector surged by 22.2% in the first four months of 2023 as opposed to the same months of 2022 to 919.3 billion drams (in current prices), the National Statistical Committee (NSC) reported.
In April 2023 alone the sector grew by 20% from April 2022 to about 244 billion drams. Compared to the previous month in 2023 the growth in April 2023 was 1.3%.
According to NSC, financial and insurance services accounted for 27.2 % of the total having grown by 12.9 % y-o-y to about 250 billion drams.
Information and communication services grew by 58% to about 200 billion drams (21.8% of the total). Transport services grew by 34.7% to over 115.2 billion drams (12.5% of the total).
Entertainment, culture and recreation services grew by 4.7% to over 97.5 billion drams (9.5% of the total). Catering and hotel services grew by 26% to over 87.4 billion drams (9.5% of the total), while health and social services grew by 1.3% to 43.6 billion drams (4.8% of the total).
Scientific and technical services grew by 18.3% to about 40 billion drams (4.3% of the total), real estate-related services fell by 2.5 % to over 37.1 billion drams (4.1% of the total), administrative and related services grew by 2.6% to over 26.3 billion drams (2.7% of the total) and education services grew by 11.8% to over 24.5 drams (2.7% of the total).
