YEREVAN, February 17. /ARKA/. The founding meeting of the Armenian-Ukrainian Business Council was held on February 16 in Yerevan, the Armenian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (AUIE) reported.

The president of AUIE Arsen Ghazaryan and Anatoliy Kinakh, the president of the Ukrainian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, addressed the gathering speaking about the prospective directions of bilateral cooperation and outlined also the problems the newly established council will have to overcome.

Leaders of business unions, associations, and industry associations participating in the founding meeting presented the current situation in their fields.

The agreement on the creation of the Armenian-Ukrainian Business Council was signed by seven Armenian organizations, including the Armenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Central Bank and by six organizations from Ukraine, including the Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen and the Central Bank.

The Armenian-Ukrainian Business Council will work to promote economic development and cooperation between Ukraine and Armenia, encourage dialogue between the enterprises of the two countries.

One of the objectives will be to develop proposals for state structures of Ukraine and Armenia to strengthen the Ukrainian-Armenian business relations.

Membership in the Council is open and voluntary for representatives of Ukrainian and Armenian business unions, associations and production associations, private sector as well as other corporate and financial organizations of Armenia and Ukraine.

Joint meetings of the Business Council will be held regularly, at least twice a year, successively in Ukraine and Armenia or online.

The founding meeting was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to Ukraine Vladimir Karapetyan and Charge d'Affaires of Ukraine to Armenia Denis Avtonomov. --0--
