YEREVAN, June 9. /ARKA/. Armenian wineries and canneries are expected to procure this year about 150,000 metric tons of grape, vegetables and fruits, by almost 70 thousand tons more than in 2021, Economy Minister Vahan Kerobyan said at a government meeting today.

The government today has revised its earlier decision of July 15, 2021, regarding provision of government guarantees to procurement loans.

Kerobyan recalled that last year the government introduced a new tool providing partial guarantees on loans taken by companies for purchases of agricultural produces.

"Last year this tool worked quite well: 5.4 billion drams of budget guarantees were provided to 9 companies, 7 of which were buyers of grapes and 2 were buyers of vegetables and fruits," he noted.

Kerobyan said canneries and other companies plan to buy this year 100,000 tons of grape and 49.3 thousand tons of fruits and vegetables.

He said the deadline for the conclusion of contracts for the purchase of vegetables and fruits was May 31 and some 1,554 companies have signed such contracts.   ($1-$430.79 AMD). -0-
