ArmRosGazprom to connect 7000 new subscribers to network in 2012

Armenia’s Russian-controlled natural gas operator ArmRosGazprom (ARG) will connect 7,000 new households and enterprises to the network in 2012, Ashot Hakobian, head of an ARG department in charge of technical management, said today at a meeting of the country’s Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) that approved ARG’s investment program for 2012-2014 worth 11.94 billion drams.

YEREVAN, December 21./ARKA/. Armenia’s Russian-controlled natural gas operator ArmRosGazprom (ARG) will connect 7,000 new households and enterprises to the network in 2012, Ashot Hakobian, head of an ARG department in charge of technical management, said today at a meeting of the country’s Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) that approved ARG’s investment program for 2012-2014 worth 11.94 billion drams.

Hakobian said in 2012 ARG does not plan construction of new gas distribution lines and new consumers will be connected to already operating networks. The cost of gas meters for new consumers is estimated at 200 million drams. Overall, ARG has earmarked 490 million drams for connecting new consumers to its networks in the next three years.

ArmRosGazprom is the only supplier and distributor of Russian natural gas in Armenia that is shipped across Georgia. The company was founded in 1997 and more than 80% of its shares are owned by Russian Gazprom and the remaining shares by Armenian government. ($1-382.36 drams). -0-
