Armenia exported 2.3 times more flowers to Russia than last year

YEREVAN, August 8. /ARKA/. According to Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan, as of August 3, 2025, Armenia had exported 1,217 tons of flowers, compared to 519 tons in the same period last year.
"Two and a half times more tons of flowers were exported," he wrote on his Facebook page.
The minister noted that, when exports were registered by the piece, exports grew by 15% during the specified period.
"Specifically, while last year it was 41.8 million pieces, this year it is over 48 million," Papoyan explained.
According to Rosselkhoznadzor, Russian agriculturalwatchdog, there has been an increase in the import of cut flowers from Armenia this year. Thus, since the beginning of 2025, more than 71.1 million pieces have been delivered, which is 47% more than the 48.5 million pieces delivered during the same period in 2024. Last year, a total of 84.4 million pieces of flower products were shipped.
According to the Food Safety Inspectorate of Armenia, the export of flowers from Armenia to the Russian Federation is permitted for 14 companies that grow flowers.
Recently, however, Rosselkhoznadzor had restricted the import of flowers from Armenia, stating that quarantine diseases and pests have become more frequent.-0-
