YEREVAN, March 23. /ARKA/. The forecast for GDP growth in Armenia may be revised taking into account the situation with coronavirus, Tigran Avinyan, Armenian vice-premier and commandant for the state of emergency, said on Sunday in an interview with the Public Television of Armenia.

Speaking about the state of the country’s economy after overcoming the coronavirus in the world, Avinyan noted that some revision will take place in outlooks - the forecast for GDP growth will be softened.

Avinyan refrained from forecasting whether the year will be completed with a positive growth in GDP, noting that this depends on some details.

"Nevertheless, we are thinking over the matter. At least the ministry of finance every ten days carries out a new analysis and presents its proposals taking into account the current situation. There are simply a lot of uncertainties in the world," Avinyan said in his televised interview.

"The world has already changed globally and time has come to understand what exactly we will do in the new changed world," Avinyan said.

He added that in the future the authorities are going to provide assistance to business people who will see new opportunities in a world that has changed due to coronavirus.

In the state budget of Armenia for 2020, which was approved by the parliament on December 6, 2019, economic growth is projected at 4.9% and inflation at 4% (± 1.5%). -0---
