Benefits for highly qualified specialists to be reduced in Armenia

YEREVAN, December 27. /ARKA/. At a meeting on Friday, the Armenian government approved a decision to extend the program for subsidizing leasing contracts and loans for industry until December 31, 2025. This program, which was in effect from March 26, 2020, to December 1, 2024, includes a component for compensating the salaries of highly qualified specialists.

Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan stated that a decision had been made to amend this component. Specifically, he mentioned that specialists in the fields of finance, insurance, and retail/wholesale trade would be excluded from the program. Additionally, while the compensation amount previously ranged from 20% to 70% depending on various conditions, the approved amendments will reduce it to a range of 10% to 50%.
