Business entities affected by floods in Lori and Tavush provided with support in the amount of 181 million drams - Papoyan

YEREVAN, June 9. /ARKA/. Business entities in the Lori and Tavush regions of Armenia affected by the floods in 2024 were provided with support in the amount of 181 million drams, Armenain Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan said.
"Support was provided to 155 beneficiaries. The assistance is still ongoing, as a number of representatives of these entities were given the opportunity to check their documents and re-submit them," Papoyan said in parliament on Monday during the discussion of the report on the implementation of the RA state budget for 2024.
The head of the Ministry of Economy also said that the department had carried out unscheduled measures to provide support to business entities in the territories declared disaster zones as a result of the current emergency situation.
An emergency situation has developed in Tavush and Lori due to heavy rains that fell on May 25-26, 2024, as well as due to the flooding of the Debed, Aghstev and Tashir rivers. The natural disaster claimed the lives of 4 people, more than 440 people were rescued and evacuated. The settlements of these two regions affected by the floods have been declared a disaster zone. -0-
