He stated that capital expenditures allocated to the economic and social spheres in 2026 will exceed the level of capital expenditures in the 2025 state budget by 22%.
"We have separated capital expenditures allocated to the Ministry of Defense and economic infrastructure. "As a result, capital expenditures allocated to the economic and social spheres will amount to 3.4% of GDP in 2026, and 3.2% and 3.6% in 2027 and 2028, respectively. "43% of capital expenditures will be allocated to the defense sector in 2026," the minister said during a discussion of the 2026 draft budget in parliament.
According to Hovhannisyan, social protection expenditures will amount to 993 billion drams in 2026, and 1.06 trillion drams and 1.1 trillion drams in 2027 and 2028, respectively.
