CIS prime ministers sign protocol to support free movement of goods

Prime ministers of CIS member countries, who are in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, for a session of the Council of CIS heads of government, signed today a protocol amending the agreement "On the rules of origin of goods in the CIS", designed to secure free movement of goods across several former Soviet republics, the press service of the Armenian government said.

YEREVAN, November 21. / ARKA /. Prime ministers of CIS member countries, who are in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, for a session of the Council of CIS heads of government, signed today a protocol amending the agreement "On the rules of origin of goods in the CIS", designed to secure free movement of goods across several former Soviet republics, the press service of the Armenian government said.
The Armenian government said the protocol is meant to secure the effective implementation of the free trade regime among the CIS countries.
The meeting also discussed a set off issues concerning medical and social support for veterans, participants of local conflicts and their families living in the CIS countries, as well as the allocation of funds for the creation and development of the united air defense system of CIS countries.
The heads of government also discussed about two dozen questions concerning the development of cooperation within the Commonwealth. In particular, they discussed the implementation of the provisions of the treaty "On the free trade zone" of 18 October 2011, as well as the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes by CIS countries. They also discussed issues related to pricing and competition in the market of oil and oil products. -0-
