Consumer prices in Armenia fell by 0.1% in January-August

YEREVAN, September 25. /ARKA/. Consumer prices in Armenia decreased by 0.1% in January-August 2024 compared to the first eight months of last year, the National Statistical Committee (NSC) repots.
At the same time, a 1.3% growth was registered in August of this year compared to August of last year, and a 0.1% growth compared to July of the same year.
According to the NSC, the prices of industrial goods in January-August 2024 compared to the same period of 2023 increased by 2.9%. In August this year, year-over-year prices of industrial goods rose 3.5%, while for the month, they fell 1.4%.
In the state budget for 2024, inflation is set at 4% (±1.5%). According to the Central Bank's monetary policy report for the third quarter of this year, inflation is expected to be within 2.1-2% by the end of 2024.-0-
The WB expects inflation in Armenia to be 3% in 2024, 3.5% in 2025 and 4% in 2026. The IMF forecasts that prices in Armenia will rise by 3.1% in 2024 and by 3.7% in 2025. According to ADB forecasts, inflation in Armenia will be 3% in 2024 and accelerate to 3.5% in 2025 under conditions of monetary policy easing. EDB expects inflation in Armenia at the level of 1.5% at the end of the current year. -0-
