YEREVAN, April 5. /ARKA/. G20 countries should develop efficient measures to fight corruption as it is one of the main causes of the global economic crisis that started in 2008, said participants of G20 speakers’ forum held in Mexican capital, RIA Novosti reports.

Precise, reliable and global financial regulation is requirement in all over the world, head of the Mexican Senate Ernesto Cordero said Thursday at a round-table discussion on financial system and anti-corruption measures.

The 2008 crisis and its aftermath hit first of all ordinary families across the globe, Cordero said.

Hence, financial regulation became a topic of global importance, he said.

The G20, formally launched in September 1999, includes 19 countries plus the European Union. Collectively, the G20 economies account for more than 80 percent of the world's economic output, 80 percent of the global trade and two-thirds of the world population. -0-
