YEREVAN, February 26. /ARKA/. A courier service for bank card delivery will be introduced in Armenia, along with a delivery confirmation mechanism for employees of the Unified Social Service. This was announced by Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Arsen Torosyan at a government meeting on Thursday.
"This is being done for citizens who are unable to formalize the transition to cashless pension payments themselves. Some pensioners will be able to receive their pensions by issuing a power of attorney to represent their interests. All this is being done to ensure that after the complete transition to cashless pension payments on April 1, no pensioner will be deprived of their payments," Torosyan said.
He reported that as of February 26, 2026, 15,000 citizens are still receiving their pensions in cash. At the beginning of December last year, this figure stood at 50,000.
"Starting March 5, citizens who haven't selected a bank will be automatically assigned to financial institutions," Torosyan reminded.
Starting April 1, 2026, all 660,000 pension and social benefit recipients in Armenia will be transferred to cashless payments. This applies to all types of government support—from pensions and poverty benefits to urgent payments and childcare assistance for children under two.
