YEREVAN, 13 December. /ARKA/. The Crossroads of Peace project will secure favourable conditions for the expansion of transport, trade and economic ties between all interested states, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said.

‘This project initiated by the Republic of Armenia will eventually provide favourable conditions for the development of transport and trade-economic ties between all interested states on the basis of full respect for the sovereignty and jurisdiction of the countries, as well as the principle of equality and reciprocity,’ Pashinyan said at a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Moscow on Friday.

According to him, the capabilities of the EEU member states in the field of transport and logistics are not fully utilised.

‘In this context, I consider it necessary to once again note the importance of this project for our region, which envisages creation and modernisation of a number of transport and communication routes,’ Pashinyan said.

The main idea of the project is to launch (renew) and develop transport communication between Armenia, Georgia, Turkey, Azerbaijan and Iran through roads, railways, cables, pipelines and power lines.

This is expected to build a short and efficient route between the Caspian Sea and the Mediterranean Sea, as well as a route from the Persian Gulf to the Black Sea. -0-
