YEREVAN, June 2. /ARKA/. Decentralized cooperation between Armenia and France, which is one of the most dynamic areas of interstate relations, is based on a strong institutional foundation, said Armenian Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure David Khudatyan.

“It is noteworthy that even before the establishment of diplomatic relations between our two countries, the Bagneux commune of the Paris region was already a sister city with Armenia’s Vanadzor. Now, as a result of our cooperation, there are more than 50 such cities, urban units and communities,” Khudatyan noted at the opening of the 5th Armenia-France Decentralized Cooperation Forum in Goris on Monday.

According to him, thanks to the regular high-level dialogue between Armenia and France, a comprehensive agenda has been formed in the political, economic, defense, educational, cultural, health and Francophonie spheres. "The priority of the Armenian government is to increase the sustainability of Syunik, which is aimed at developing and strengthening capabilities in the above-mentioned areas. France, along with other countries, occupies a key place in this regard, and holding this forum in Syunik is of strategic importance," Khudatyan said. -0-
