Deputy Prime Minister says Armenian manufacturers can produce competitive products for Russian consumers

YEREVAN, June 20. /ARKA/. Armenian manufacturers are able to produce competitive products that will be in demand of Russian consumers, Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan said today.
According to Armenpress, Grigoryan made this statement during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in Russia, assessing the current level and future prospects of Armenian-Russian trade and economic relations. He noted that the indicators of this interaction testify to the existence of institutional ties between Armenia and Russia in the field of trade.
“Of course, there are many problems, and if we look at the size of the market, they require additional efforts on our part to be consistent,” Grigoryan said.
The deputy prime minister expressed confidence that in order to successfully increase exports, more attention needs to be paid to logistics and consolidation.
“High-quality producers in the agricultural sector are, as a rule, small and medium-sized enterprises. They need significant resources and coordination to enter world markets, including the large Russian market,” Grigoryan noted.
According to him, it is important to promote the creation of logistics centers, the development of product consolidation systems, and the provision of uninterrupted supplies.
He noted that the Armenian and Russian sides are actively working on all these issues and providing assistance in logistics, but there is still much to be done in these areas. The deputy prime minister emphasized that the desire and potential to increase trade turnover are limitless.
“We have no restrictions on the growth of production and exports. We only have the desire to increase it,” Grigoryan added.
According to data from the National Statistical Service of Armenia, Russia is Armenia's largest foreign trade partner (trade turnover for January-April 2025 was over $2.2 billion, a decline of 62.5% compared to the same period last year). -0-
