Economy minister: Armenia’s labor market sets new record

YEREVAN, October 22. /ARKA/. Armenia’s labor market set a new record in September 2021, Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan wrote on Facebook.
According to him, the number of officially registered jobs grew to 651,000 while the income taxes collected from these jobs amounted to 145 billion drams. The average gross salary in the country was 223,000 drams.
"The highest salary was recorded in three areas - information technology, where for the first time, the number of employees exceeded 15 thousand people with an average salary of 818 thousand drams. The mining industry had 8,639 registered workers, whose average salary was 522 thousand drams. Gambling and winning games industry had 6,522 employees with an average salary of 513 thousand drams," Kerobyan wrote.
According to him, these three sectors accounted only for .462% of all working citizens of the country, but they paid 13.88% of all income taxes. ($1 – 476. 47 drams). -0-
