Economy minister denies existence of monopolies in Armenia
YEREVAN, December 28. /ARKA/. Suren Karayan, Armenia’s minister of economic development and investments, told journalists on Wednesday that there are no monopolies in Armenia, but natural monopolies, which are regulated by the Public Services Regulatory Commission.

He said that there are economic entities dominating markets, but this is going on because the country’s market is small.

Denying media reports about monopolies, the minister declared that not a single monopoly exists in Armenia.

“I am convinced that Armenia’s all trade markets are open and there are no restrictions,” he said. “You saw an example of banana import – there are no obstacles here. There are neither restrictions nor monopolies.” --0---
