EEU and Iran sign full-fledged free trade agreement

YEREVAN, December 25. /ARKA/. Five former Soviet republics- Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia- which are members of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) have signed today a free trade agreement with the Islamic Republic of Iran. The full-fledged agreement has replaced the provisional one that was in force since 2019.
The signing took place during a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Russian St. Petersburg, Russian news agency Tass reported.
The document was signed by Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Mikhail Myasnikovich, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk, Iranian Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade Abbas Ali-Abadi and representatives of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
The provisional agreement on the establishment of a free trade zone between the EEU and Iran was concluded on May 17, 2018 and was valid from October 27, 2019. --0--
