Armenian power generating facilities produced 6,508.1 million kWh of electricity in January-August 2025, a 7.1% increase compared to January-August 2024, according to data published by the Statistical Committee.

Electricity generation in Armenia ups by 7.1% over first eight months to 6.5 billion kWh

YEREVAN, October 7. /ARKA/. Armenian power generating facilities produced 6,508.1 million kWh of electricity in January-August 2025, a 7.1% increase compared to January-August 2024, according to data published by the Statistical Committee.

Thermal power plants accounted for the largest share of electricity generated – 30.4%: generation amounted to 1,980.5 million kWh, a decrease of 19.1%.

The Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (ANPP) accounted for 26.3% of the total (1,710.0 million kWh, up 7.8%), while hydroelectric power plants (1,699.2 million kWh, up 23.2%) accounted for 26.1%.

Solar power plants (17.2%) generated 1,117.9 million kWh of electricity in the first eight months of the year (up 69.2%), while wind power plants (0.02%) produced 0.5 million kWh (down 36.6%).

Starting in 2023, electricity production volumes also include electricity generated by autonomous power producers.-0-
