Electricity production in Armenia upped 6.5% during 11 months to over 9 billion kWh
YEREVAN, January 15. /ARKA/. In the period from January to November 2025, Armenia produced 9,001.8 million kWh of electricity, marking a 6.5% increase compared to the same period in 2024, as reported by the Statistical Committee of Armenia.
Thermal power plants contributed the largest portion of electricity generated, accounting for 31.5% with an output of 2,836.6 million kWh, which is a decline of 10.7%.
The Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (ANPP) represented 28.7% of the total generation (2,584.8 million kWh, an increase of 3.6%), while hydroelectric power plants generated 2,029.1 million kWh (up 8.6%), making up 22.6% of the total.
Solar power plants, contributing 17.2%, produced 1,550.4 million kWh of electricity in the first 11 months, reflecting a significant increase of 69.7%. In contrast, wind power plants, which accounted for 0.02%, generated only 0.9 million kWh, a decrease of 18.2%.
Beginning in 2023, the volumes of electricity production also encompass the output from autonomous power producers.-0-
