Electricity production in Armenia in January-August increased by 2.4% to over 6.1 billion kWh
YEREVAN, 7 October. /ARKA/. More than 6.1 billion kWh of electricity was generated in Armenia in January-August 2024, which is 2.4% more than in the same period of 2023, the National Statistical Committee reports.
Thermal power plants account for the largest share of electricity generated - 40%: or more than 2.4 billion kWh, which is 8.3% less than last year.
The share of Armenian NPPs (output - 1,586.6 million kWh, up 5.2 per cent) is 25.9 per cent, while the share of HPPs (output - 1,379.3 million kWh, up 9.5 per cent) is 22.5 per cent.
Heliostations (share - 11.6 %) produced 706.4 million kWh of electricity during the reporting period (31.3 % growth), while wind power plants (share - 0.02 %) produced 0.8 million kWh (38.3 % decrease).
From 2023, electricity production volumes also include electricity produced by autonomous electricity producers. -0-
