EU commissioner for transport Violeta Bulc to visit Armenia in 2016 June

During a working visit to Grand Duchy of Luxembourg on June 11, Armenia’s Minister of Economy Karen Chshmaritian had a meeting with a member of European Commission, European Commissioner for Transport Violeta Bulc.
YEREVAN, June 12. / ARKA /. During a working visit to Grand Duchy of Luxembourg on June 11, Armenia’s Minister of Economy Karen Chshmaritian had a meeting with a member of European Commission, European Commissioner for Transport Violeta Bulc.
The meeting was attended by the Director-General of the Mobility and Transport Directorate-General João Aguiar Machado, Executive Director of Armenian Development Foundation Arman Khachatryan and Commercial Attaché of the Republic of Armenia to the European Union Varos Simonyan, according to the Armenian ministry of economy.
It said minister Chshmaritian highlighted the visit of the fact-finding mission of the Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport of the European Commission to the Republic of Armenia on February, 2015, during which adjustments of professional and technical issues related to the negotiation process were implemented.
It said the sides mentioned also that it is important to clarify the dates of the negotiations. Violeta Bulc informed that Armenia is included in the list of the primary countries and the issue of the mandate of Armenia is included in the new EU Aviation package which will launch on November, 2016.
The sides stressed that the agreements achieved during the meeting on December, 2014, particularly about the visit of the fact-finding mission to the Republic of Armenia and adjustments of the technical issues related to the negotiation process were implemented.
Minister Chshmaritian stated that the experience of the Republic of Armenia is a successful example, as being a member state of the Eurasian Economic Union, Armenia continues to actively cooperate with the European Union, the USA and other Eastern countries. As a proof to this Karen Chshmaritian mentioned Trade and Investment Framework Agreement signed between the USA and the Republic of Armenia, the future format of bilateral trade and economic cooperation aimed at clarifying the legal framework between EU and Armenia, as well as the agreement process on Common Aviation Area between the European Union and the Republic of Armenia.
At the end of the meeting Karen Chshmaritian invited Violeta Bulc to visit Armenia. The Commissioner accepted the invitation with enthusiasm and mentioned that she will probably come to Armenia on June, 2016. -0-
