"We are eager to finance this project. We still have funds set aside for our involvement, but we are waiting for feedback from the leaders of the relevant facilities. We are hopeful that some progress on this project has indeed commenced," Mandron mentioned during a press conference on Thursday.
He added that the EDB is looking forward to receiving specific proposals from Armenia regarding their participation. "We initially discussed our willingness to allocate some grant funds for preparatory activities," Mandron noted.
About the Yerevan Metro
The Yerevan Metro was inaugurated in 1981. Currently, it has 10 metro stations, with the total length of all lines measuring 13.4 km.
Plans are in place for two new metro stations: "Ajapnyak" (the project is estimated to cost $50 million; the design has been completed, a contractor has been chosen, and financing discussions are ongoing) and "Surmalu" (currently in the process of organizing tenders for the feasibility study, design, and urban development concept for the surrounding area).-0-
