Lack of clear figures in the plan of actions, unveiled by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's government should not be looked at as drawback, said today Gagik Makaryan, the head of the National Union of Employers, while commenting on the government’s program.

YEREVAN, June 4. /ARKA/. Lack of clear figures in the plan of actions, unveiled by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's government should not be looked at as drawback, said today Gagik Makaryan, the head of the National Union of Employers, while commenting on the government’s program.
Speaking at a news conference he said the 29-page document sets out the overall goals and actions, which, if achieved, would be further transformed into concrete numbers.
Makaryan said if the government’s actions produce results in several months, concrete numbers will appear even before the parliamentary elections and the formation of a new government.
But according to Atom Margaryan, who is the head of the Center for Innovative and Institutional Research, the government's program is a challenge for the parliamentary majority represented by the Republican Party of Armenia. He said under the current political conditions, the probability of its approval by the parliament is 50 to 50. At the same time, he believes that the absence of figures in the program is not an escape from political responsibility, but a thoughtful decision.
"The current program of the government is rather a concept document that shapes the further consistency of its policies, including the economic policy. This is a document that after an extraordinary parliamentary election and the formation of a new government will be transformed into a further action plan," Margaryan said.
The main message of the government program, published on its website is that the economic development of Armenia should be ensured by eliminating monopolies and developing a competitive environment, combating shadow and poverty. The government also considers information technology, agriculture and tourism as priority directions for economic development of the country.
Discussion of the government program in the National Assembly of Armenia will begin on June 7. -0-
