February food prices down by 0.9% in Armenia

Prices for food in Armenia downed by 0.9% in February compared to January due to tumbles by 2.6%-6.2% of prices for fruits, vegetables and potatoes, according to the National Statistical Service of Armenia.
YEREVAN, March 4. /ARKA/. Prices for food in Armenia downed by 0.9% in February compared to January due to tumbles by 2.6%-6.2% of prices for fruits, vegetables and potatoes, according to the National Statistical Service of Armenia.
The National Statistical Service reported drop in prices for scallions by 15.1%, cucumbers-13.5%, onions-11%, carrots-10.5%, radish-9%, cabbage- 8.9%, tomatoes-5.6%, potatoes-5.2%, beet-3.9%, aubergine-1.5% and green bell pepper-0.5%.
Hikes in prices are reported for garlic-14.3% and mushrooms-2.8%.
Fruit prices fell in February by 2.6% from January due to tumbles in cost of apples-12.1%, pears-11.7%, bananas-8.6%, oranges-7.9% and lemons-6.3%.
The hike in prices for grape was 2.1%, pomegranates- 4.6%, mandarins-11.4%, oriental persimmon-21.7%.
In Yerevan fruit prices decreased by 2%.
Meat prices dropped in February from January by 0.2%. Prices downed for pork by 4.3%, basturma-1.1% and sausage-1.1%. Cost of beef and lamb rose by 0.6% and 3.1% accordingly. Meat prices in Yerevan dropped by 0.3%.
Egg prices rose by 2.3% within the reported period.
Prices for, coffee, tea, cocoa remained the same from January, and sugar cost fell by 0.5%.
Prices for bread products ascended by 0.2%, dairy—by 0.4%, animal fats and vegetable oil-0.5%, fish products-0.9%, alcohol beverages and cigarettes-1.7%. -0-
