Armenia may record an economic growth close to 4.5% in 2014, Chairman of the Eurasian Development Bank’s Board Igor Finogenov told Novosti-Armenia.

MOSCOW, October 9. /ARKA/. Armenia may record an economic growth close to 4.5% in 2014, Chairman of the Eurasian Development Bank’s Board Igor Finogenov told Novosti-Armenia.
“I think this figure will not be changed, though decline in purchasing power in Russia may have adverse impacts on it,” the banker said.
On the other hand, he said, Russia’s decision to ban food imports from the United States and the European Union may neutralize this adverse impact, and this gives grounds for expecting this figure.
According to the International monetary Fund’s latest forecast, GDP growth in Armenia will stand at 4.3% this year. The World Bank predicts 5%.
On September 16, Moody’s International Rating Agency reconsidered its GDP growth outlook for Armenia downward to 3.6-4.2% from the previous 4.1-4.8%.
In Armenia’s 2014 government budget, economic growth is projected at 5.2% and inflation at 4% (±1.5%). ----0-----
