Food prices in Armenia increased by 5.6% in October

Food and soft drink prices increased by 5.6% in October 2025 compared to October 2024, and by 0.7% month-on-month, according to a report by the Statistical Committee of Armenia (Armstat).

YEREVAN, November 5. /ARKA/. Food and soft drink prices increased by 5.6% in October 2025 compared to October 2024, and by 0.7% month-on-month, according to a report by the Statistical Committee of Armenia (Armstat).

Bakery and cereal prices increased by 3.7% in October year-on-year and by 0.3% month-on-month. Bread prices increased by 3.5% (a 0.2% increase month-on-month), buckwheat by 3.7% (a 1.9% increase), flour by 6% (a 0.4% increase), and pasta by 8.2% (a 0.3% decrease). Meat prices increased by 3.5% year-on-year in October and by 0.4% month-on-month. Poultry prices increased by 1.9% year-on-year (up 0.4% month-on-month), beef by 3.2% (up 0.4%), lamb by 10.6% (up 5.11%), and pork by 9.9% (up 0.8%).

Fish and seafood prices increased by 15.3% in October 2025 compared to October 2024 and by 0.5% compared to September 2024. Trout prices increased by 16% during the reporting period and by 0.3% month-on-month.

Dairy, Cheese, and Egg prices increased by 2.7% year-on-year and by 3% month-on-month in October. At the same time, in October, the price of matsun increased by 4.8% year-on-year (up 4.5% month-on-month), cheese by 2.2% (up 1.4%), fresh milk by 4% (up 2.5%), sour cream by 5.6% (up 5%), cottage cheese by 5.2% (up 4.4%), and eggs by 0.3% (up 3.8%).

Products in the "Oils and Fats" group increased in price in October by 13.5% year-on-year and 2.1% month-on-month. Meanwhile, sunflower oil increased in price by 18.6% (up 4.6%), margarine by 3% (up 0.6%), and butter by 12.3% (up 0.4%). Fruit prices in October increased by 7.1% year-on-year and decreased by 4.9% month-on-month.
In the "Vegetables" category, prices increased by 3.6% year-on-year and 3.5% month-on-month in October.

In the "Sugar, Fruit Puree, Honey, Syrups, Chocolate, and Sugar Confectionery" category, prices increased by 5.4% year-on-year and 0.4% month-on-month in October. Sugar and granulated sugar fell by 6.1% year-on-year (a 0.1% increase month-on-month), while chocolate fell by 12% (a 0.7% increase).

In the "Coffee, Tea, and Cocoa" category, prices increased by 11.9% year-on-year in October this year compared to October last year, and by 1.5% compared to September this year. In October, coffee prices increased by 12.6% year-on-year (up 1.5% month-on-month), cocoa by 25.3% (up 4.1%), and tea by 4.1% (up 0.6%).

Mineral and spring water prices, as well as bottled drinking water, increased by 3.8% year-on-year in October and by 0.2% month-on-month.

Alcohol prices increased by 4.7% year-on-year in October and by 0.4% month-on-month in August. Furthermore, ethyl alcohol and vodka increased by 5.3% year-on-year in October (up 0.5% month-on-month), wine by 3% (up 0.2%), and beer by 3.2% (up 0.4%).

Tobacco prices increased by 8.3% year-on-year in October (unchanged month-on-month). Food products not included in other groups increased in price by 1.2% in October 2025 compared to October 2024, and by 0.1% compared to September.

Moreover, according to statistics, prices in the non-food market increased by 0.9% in October of this year compared to October last year, and by 0.4% compared to September of this year.

In Armenia, inflation was 3.7% in October 2025 compared to October 2024, and 0.3% for the month.
