Food products in Armenia in July increased in price by 4.7% over a year, and decreased by 2.7% over a month

In July 2025, prices for food products and soft drinks increased by 4.7% compared to July 2024, but decreased by 2.7% over the course of one month. This information comes from the National Statistical Committee of Armenia's report.
Food products in Armenia in July increased in price by 4.7% over a year, and decreased by 2.7% over a month

YEREVAN, August 6: /ARKA/. In July 2025, prices for food products and soft drinks increased by 4.7% compared to July 2024, but decreased by 2.7% over the course of one month. This information comes from the National Statistical Committee of Armenia's report.

Bakery products and cereals increased in price by 4.1% over a year and by 0.1% over a month in July.

Meanwhile, pasta prices increased by 5.8% in July (a 0.4% increase over a month), while bread prices increased by 4.4% (a 0.1% increase over a month) and flour prices increased by 8.4% (a 0.1% increase over a month).

Meat prices increased by 2.2% year-on-year and by 0.6% month-on-month in July. Beef prices increased 1.3% year-on-year in July (a 0.5% increase month-on-month), while lamb prices increased 4.3% (a 0.6% increase), pork prices increased 7% (a 3.1% increase), and poultry prices decreased 0.2% (a 0.1% decrease).

In July 2025, fish and seafood prices increased by 22% compared to July 2024 and by 0.3% compared to June of the same year. Trout prices increased by 24.1% during the reporting period and by 0.3% month-on-month.

In July, prices in the dairy products, cheese, and eggs group decreased by 2.1% year-on-year and by 0.5% month-on-month. Meanwhile, the price of ice cream increased by 7.1% year-on-year (an increase of 1.8% over the month), the price of fresh milk decreased by 0.2%, the price of cheese fell by 0.5%, and the price of eggs decreased by 8.3%.

Products in the "Oils and Fats" group increased in price by 13.8% year-on-year and by 0.6% month-on-month in July. Butter increased in price by 12.6% (an increase of 0.2% over the month), margarine by 2% (an increase of 0.6%), and sunflower oil by 16.8% (an increase of 0.9%).

Fruit prices increased by 4.9% year-on-year and fell by 2.4% month-on-month in July.

In the vegetables group, prices increased by 6.1% year-on-year and decreased by 21.7% over the month.

"In July 2025, compared to June of the same year, the average weighted deflation in the vegetables and fruits groups was 14.37%. These groups, which account for 8.28% of the consumer basket, contributed to a 1.22 percentage point decrease in the overall level of consumer prices during this period," according to the report.

In July, the price growth in the Sugar, Fruit Puree, Honey, Syrups, Chocolate, and Sugar Confectionery group was 5.1% over the year, and a 0.1% decline was recorded over the month. Sugar and granulated sugar fell in price by 4.7% in July compared to July (a decline of 0.5% over the month), while chocolate rose in price by 12% (a decline of 0.7%), and confectionery products increased in price by 1.4% (a rise of 0.6%).

In the "Coffee, Tea, Cocoa" group, prices increased by 12.2% in July of this year compared to July of last year and by 0.7% compared to June of this year. Coffee increased in price by 13.4% over the year (an increase of 0.7% over the month), and cocoa increased by 20.4% (an increase of 1.7%).

The price of mineral or spring water, as well as bottled drinking water, increased by 2.9% over the year and by 1% over the month.

The price of alcoholic beverages increased by 4.7% compared to July of last year and by 0.5% compared to June. Vodka increased in price by 5.5% year-on-year (an increase of 0.4% over the month), wine by 2.6% (an increase of 0.5%), and beer by 2.3% (an increase of 0.9%).

The price of tobacco products increased by 8% year-on-year in July (a 0.6% increase over the month).

Food products not included in other groups increased in price by 0.8% in July 2025 compared to July 2024 and by 0.3% compared to June.

According to statistics, prices in the non-food market increased by 0.1% in July of this year compared to July last year and remained unchanged compared to June of the same year.

In Armenia, inflation was recorded at 3.4% in July 2025 compared to July 2024, and deflation was 0.8% for the month.-0-
