Food prices in Armenia up 1.6% in October

Prices for foods in Armenia rose 1.6% in October 2014, compared with the previous month, National Statistical Service reports.

YEREVAN, October 31. /ARKA/. Prices for foods in Armenia rose 1.6% in October 2014, compared with the previous month, National Statistical Service reports.
The price rise was mainly due to increase in prices for eggs and vegetables – 6.4% and 15.3% respectively.
Compared with October 2013, vegetable prices went 12.7 percentage points up, while eggs became 3.9% cheaper.
Prices for fish products rose 6.5% in October 2014, compared with the same month a year earlier, and 1%, compared with September 2014.
Meat products became more expensive as well – by 0.6%, compared with the same month a year before, and by 0.5%, compared with the previous month.
Prices for dairy products climbed 5.1% in October 2014, compared with October 2013, and 0.4%, compared with September 2014.
Fruit prices climbed 8.7% in October 2014, compared with the same month a year earlier, but slid 1%, compared with the previous month.
Prices for vegetable oils and adipose sank 3.4% in October 2014, compared with October 2013, and slipped 0.3%, compared with September 2014.
Prices for bread, coffee, tea, cocoa, confectionery, spirits and cigarettes showed a 0.1% month-on-month increase in October 2014 and prices for other products a 0.4% increase.
Consumer prices in Armenia went 1% up in October 2014, compared with the previous month, and showed a 2.9% year-on-year growth in Jan-Oct 2014.
In the 2014 government budget, inflation in Armenia is projected at 4% (±1.5%). –0—
