Former Armenian MP appointed head of financial policy department at Eurasian Economic Commission

YEREVAN, August 15. /ARKA/. A former member of the Armenian parliament Arkady Khachatryan has been appointed Director of the Financial Policy Department at the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), the executive arm of the Russia-led Eurasian Economic Union that comprises also Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
Arkady Khachatryan was born in 1975 in Armenian Vanadzor. In 1997, he graduated from the faculty of economics of Yerevan State University, and in 2005 from the faculty of law.
In 2009, he studied at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government and has PhD degree in economics.
In 1998-2002, he held various positions at the ministries of finance and economy of Armenia. From 2003 to 2015, he worked in the Office of the President of Armenia. From 2015 to 2018, he was Member of the Board of the Central Bank of Armenia, from 2018 to 2019 - Advisor to the Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia.
From 2019 to 2021 he was deputy of the National Assembly of Armenia, chairman of the standing parliamentary commission on financial-credit and budgetary issues. -0-
