GeoProMining Group of Companies plans to build copper smelting plant in Armenia

YEREVAN, July 10. /ARKA/. GeoProMining Group of Companies, which operates the Sotk gold mine and owns a majority stake in the Zangezur copper-molybdenum combine in Armenia through its subsidiary called Industrial Company plans to build a new copper smelting plant in the country, Roman Khudoliy, General Director of the Zangezur Combine, President of GeoProMining Group of Companies, said in an interview with Armenpress.
"Currently, two large international companies are developing for us a preliminary feasibility study for the construction of the smelting plant. It will describe in detail the technological approaches and all aspects of construction and operation of the smelter," Khudoliy said.
Asked about the Sotk gold mine, whose operation was suspended for security reasons because of shelling by the Azerbaijani armed forces, Khudoliy said, 'We are closely cooperating with the Armenian government on this issue."
GeoProMining Group, one of Armenia's largest industrial investors, has been operating in the country for 15 years. The group's Armenian assets consist of the Sotk gold mine, Ararat gold recovery plant and the Agarak copper-molybdenum combine. -0-
