Germany to continue assisting Armenia in carrying out reforms

Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan received today a delegation led by Anne Kemp, the head of the Armenian office of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), Avinyan’s press office said.
YEREVAN, March 26. /ARKA/. Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan received today a delegation led by Anne Kemp, the head of the Armenian office of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), Avinyan’s press office said.
Avinyan was said to have expressed satisfaction with the effective partnership with GIZ on sustainable development, public and financial management, the rule of law and private sector development.
Avinyan was quoted as saying that the Armenian government emphasizes the consistent development of relations with Germany. He said also there is a significant potential for cooperation in trade and investment, as well as in scientific and technological development. He also welcomed the readiness of Germany to assist in the implementation of the reforms undertaken by the Armenian government.
Kemp said that with the financial assistance of the German government, GIZ is starting in 2020 the implementation of the Good Governance in the South Caucasus program, which aims to strengthen the capacity of public institutions at the state and local / community levels to provide services to citizens.
The sides discussed also the possibilities of cooperation in the context of reforms carried out in the field of public administration, territorial development and local self-government. -0-
