YEREVAN, February 7. / ARKA /. The government will work hard throughout this year to ensure economic growth and macroeconomic stability, finance minister David Sargsyan said today at a conference on Armenian capital market: opportunities and challenges in the resort town of Tsakhkadzor.

He reminded that Armenia’s manufacturing industry (without mining sector) in 2013 saw a 7.7% growth; it grew faster than any other sector over the last ten years, he recalled.

As a positive achievement he cited the 7.5 percent agriculture growth last year, as well as a 7.2 percent increase in exports

According to Armenia's state budget for 2014, the GDP is to grow by 5.2 %. The inflation projection is 4 % (± 1.5%).

The focus of the conference in Tsakhkadozr was on Armenia’s capital markets. It was jointly organized by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and NASDAQ OMX Armenia, with support from the Central Bank of Armenia.

The event brought together over 100 participants from private companies, as well as government officials and other stakeholders, to discuss the challenges and opportunities associated with building robust capital markets in Armenia. .-0-
