Heads of Armenia’s state food safety agency and Russia’s Rosselkhoznadzor meet in Moscow

Armen Hayrapetyan, head of Armenia’s State Food Safety Agency, met with Sergey Dankvert, head of the Russian Federation Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision (Rosselkhoznadzor), yesterday in Moscow, the press office of the Armenian agency reported on Tuesday.

YEREVAN, October 28. /ARKA/. Armen Hayrapetyan, head of Armenia’s State Food Safety Agency, met with Sergey Dankvert, head of the Russian Federation Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision (Rosselkhoznadzor), yesterday in Moscow, the press office of the Armenian agency reported on Tuesday.
The extension of the list of the organizations that enjoy permission for exporting fish and fish products from Armenia to Russia was discussed at the meeting, which took place on the Armenian side.
The two officials discussed also other export-related issues. They also discussed prospects for introduction a single automated electronic system and training for the state agency at appropriate divisions of Rosselkhoznadzor.
Dankvert said that Armenian-Russian trade relations are developing vigorously – in particular, Armenia’s fish exports to Russia have grown a great deal.
The necessity of strengthening border control for preventing smuggling, which is growing after Russia took return steps, was discussed at the meeting as well.
Hayrapetyan and Dankvert stressed the importance of joint struggle against dangerous animal diseases, such as African pig plague and foot-and-mouth disease.
Upon completion of the meeting, Hayrapetyan invited Dankvert to Armenia. The date of the visit will become known later. --0----
