Import of Russian gas to Armenia in 2013 dropped by 0.6 percent to 1.956.3 billion cubic meters

The import of Russian natural gas to Armenia in 2013 dropped by 0.6 percent from the previous year to 1.956.3 billion cubic meters, the press service of the Russian-owned Armenia’s national gas operator ArmRosGazprom (ARG) said today.

YEREVAN, February 3. / ARKA /. The import of Russian natural gas to Armenia in 2013 dropped by 0.6 percent from the previous year to 1.956.3 billion cubic meters, the press service of the Russian-owned Armenia’s national gas operator ArmRosGazprom (ARG) said today.
Of that amount the company sold 1.945.2 billion cubic meters, which was 5.4 % more than in 2012.
Consumption of natural gas by energy sector rose last year by 8.9% to 511 million cubic meters.
The industrial sector’s consumption rose by 5.4 percent to 268 million cubic meters. Liquefied gas stations sold 9 percent more (455 million cubic meters), while other consumption increased by 6 percent to 172 million.
Household consumption was said to have fallen by 0.6 percent to 539 million cubic meters.
ArmRosGazprom is the sole supplier and distributor of Russian natural gas in Armenia. The company was founded in 1997; its 100 percent shares are owned by Russian Gazprom. -0-
