YEREVAN, February 9. /ARKA/. In January 2026, inflation in Armenia stood at 3.8% when compared to January 2025, while it rose by 2% in relation to December 2025. This information comes from a report issued by the Statistical Committee of Armenia (Armstat).

In January 2026, food products and non-alcoholic beverages saw a price increase of 5.9% compared to January 2025, and a 4.3% rise over the month.

During January, the prices for alcoholic beverages and tobacco products increased by 9% year-on-year, and by 1.8% compared to December of the previous year.

Clothing and footwear prices rose by 0.3% year-on-year (a decrease of 0.4% month-on-month), while utility costs fell by 0.1% (an increase of 0.9% month-on-month).

Prices for household goods, appliances, and daily apartment maintenance dropped by 0.7% year-on-year in January, remaining unchanged month-on-month.

Healthcare prices increased by 3% in January (up 0.7% month-on-month), transportation costs rose by 4.3% (down 0.4% month-on-month), communications saw a 0.5% increase (down 0.1% month-on-month), and recreation and culture prices went up by 0.2% (down 0.2% month-on-month). Education costs increased by 8.3% (unchanged month-on-month), and the prices for restaurants and hotels rose by 3.2% (up 0.6%). Various goods and services experienced a year-on-year growth of 2.2% (0.2% month-on-month).

Statistics indicate that non-food market prices increased by 0.9% in January 2026 compared to January 2025, while they decreased by 0.1% compared to December 2025.

Additionally, service tariffs for the population rose by 2.6% year-on-year in January 2025, and by 0.6% month-on-month. The state budget of Armenia for 2026 anticipates an economic growth rate of 5.4%.

According to the Central Bank's monetary policy report for the last quarter of the previous year, GDP growth in Armenia is projected to be between 4.7% and 7% by the end of 2026, depending on different scenarios (A-B), and between 5% and 6.2% in 2027.-0-
