Inflation in Armenia for February: 2.5% year-on-year, 0.1% monthly increase

In February 2025, compared to February 2024, inflation in Armenia amounted to 2.5%, and 0.1% for the month.

YEREVAN, March 5. /ARKA/. In February 2025, compared to February 2024, inflation in Armenia amounted to 2.5%, and 0.1% for the month. This is according to the report from the National Statistical Committee (NSC) of Armenia.

According to the NSC, in February 2025, compared to February 2024, prices for food products and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 4.5%, and by 0.5% for the month.

Alcoholic beverages and tobacco products increased in price by 3.4% over the year, and by 0.5% compared to January of the current year. Prices for clothing and footwear in February 2024 decreased by 2.9% (a 0.8% decline for the month), while utility prices increased by 0.3% (a 0.8% decrease for the month). Prices for household goods, household appliances, and daily apartment maintenance activities decreased by 1.6% in February, and increased by 0.9% for the month.

Price growth in the healthcare sector in February year-over-year was 3.2% (with a 0.5% increase for the month), while the transport sector saw a 2.6% increase (a 1.4% decline for the month). Price growth in the communications sector was 0.4% (no change from the previous month), in recreation and culture 0.9% (a 1.6% increase for the month), and in education 7.8% (no change). The restaurant and hotel sectors saw a 1.3% increase (with a 0.1% rise for the month), while various goods and services saw a 0.9% price decrease year-over-year (no change for the month).

Additionally, the statistics show that prices in the non-food market decreased by 0.3% in February 2024 compared to February 2023, but increased by 0.8% compared to January of the current year.

Moreover, the growth in tariffs for services to the population in February 2024 year-over-year was 1.5%, while for the month, a decline of 1.3% was recorded.

The economic growth of Armenia for the state budget of 2025 is projected to be 5.1%. According to the Central Bank's report on monetary policy for the fourth quarter of 2024, economic growth this year is expected to be within the range of 4.8% to 7.1%, with inflation between 3.9% and 3.2%.
